This article explores the rationale and impact of teaching English to young learners (EYL). It highlights the increasing global trend of introducing English education in early primary grades, driven by the perceived benefits for future education and employment. The article outlines key advantages of early language acquisition, including increased learning time, improved pronunciation and fluency, enhanced global awareness and intercultural competence, and the cognitive benefits of bilingualism. Additionally, it acknowledges factors influencing EYL program success, emphasizing the importance of the status of English and the defined goals of English education within a specific context.
