TRANSLATION AS A LEARNING METHOD IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE TEACHING
Keywords:

Translation has traditionally been viewed as an outdated method in English language teaching (ELT), often associated with the Grammar-Translation Method. However, recent pedagogical perspectives suggest a renewed interest in translation as a cognitive and linguistic tool that enhances language acquisition. This paper explores the theoretical underpinnings, practical applications, advantages, and limitations of using translation as a method in ELT, arguing for its inclusion as a complementary strategy in modern language classrooms.
