Abstract

This article explores the phonetic phenomenon of emphatic and emphatic intonation in English. It discusses the role of pitch, stress, rhythm, and emotion in creating emphasis, and how these features are analyzed in theoretical phonetics. The paper also includes examples and practical implications of using emphasis in spoken English.
