Abstract

In recent years, microlearning has gained popularity as a fast and flexible method for language acquisition, especially in mobile learning environments. This paper investigates how microlearning techniques—short, focused learning sessions of 1–5 minutes—can support daily vocabulary retention among beginner to intermediate learners. Based on a two-week experiment involving 26 participants using digital flashcards and micro-quizzes, results show that learners exposed to spaced repetition and visual cues retained significantly more words compared to those using traditional methods. The findings suggest that microlearning not only increases engagement, but also aligns well with how memory consolidation works in language acquisition.
