SOCIAL INFLUENCES IN LANGUAGE TEACHING: AN ANNOTATED ANALYSIS

This article explores the pivotal role of social influences in language teaching, emphasizing the impact of peer interactions, societal norms, and cultural contexts on language learning outcomes. By examining collaborative learning environments, the study highlights how group work, pair activities, and immediate feedback contribute to reducing learner anxiety and promoting linguistic creativity. The analysis further investigates the influence of societal expectations, demonstrating that the perceived prestige and cultural value of a language can significantly affect learner motivation and self-perception. Additionally, the integration of cultural elements such as literature, music, history, and social customs is shown to enhance cultural sensitivity and facilitate more effective cross-cultural communication. Drawing on research findings from the field of language education, the article offers practical implications for educators, suggesting that curricula which incorporate social dimensions can foster a more dynamic, inclusive, and contextually relevant learning environment. The study concludes that a holistic approach to language teaching—one that acknowledges and leverages the complex interplay of social dynamics—can substantially improve both linguistic competence and cultural understanding in an increasingly interconnected world.
