SOCIAL MEDIA AS A LANGUAGE LEARNING TOOL: TikTok, YouTube, AND INSTAGRAM IN EDUCATION

This article examines the growing role of social media platforms—primarily TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram—as tools for language learning. While traditional classroom environments remain essential, digital platforms are increasingly offering learners authentic, engaging, and personalized exposure to foreign languages. Through short-form videos, interactive content, and community-based communication, social media provides opportunities to enhance vocabulary, listening comprehension, pronunciation, and cultural understanding. This paper reviews the pedagogical value of these platforms, outlines practical strategies for educators and learners, and highlights challenges related to digital literacy, content quality, and distraction.
