Abstract

The paper explores the cognitive advantages of bilingualism in early childhood education. Research shows that children who grow up learning two languages demonstrate enhanced executive function, improved working memory, better attention control, and greater cognitive flexibility. Bilingualism also supports metalinguistic awareness, which contributes to higher academic achievement in reading and writing. Additionally, bilingual children often show increased cultural awareness, social sensitivity, and long-term benefits such as delayed cognitive decline and expanded career opportunities. The findings highlight the importance of integrating bilingual education into early learning environments to support children's overall cognitive and emotional development.
