TESTING AS A FORM OF ASSESSMENT IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF ENGLISH READING SKILLS

This article examines testing as one of the primary methods for assessing the development of English reading skills. Various types of tests used to evaluate the level of reading skill formation, their advantages, and disadvantages are analyzed. Particular attention is paid to the role of testing in the process of learning English, its impact on student motivation, and the effectiveness of the educational process. The importance of developing high-quality test items capable of objectively assessing the level of reading skill formation and identifying areas requiring further improvement is emphasized.
