THE MAIN THEORETICAL PROBLEMS OF CULTURAL WORDS IN UZBEK LITERARY TRANSLATION

This article discusses the key theoretical problems that arise in translating culture-specific words (CSWs) from Uzbek literature into other languages. Cultural words often carry meanings deeply rooted in history, traditions, and everyday life, making them difficult to translate accurately. The article examines the challenges that translators face, including the absence of direct equivalents, cultural gaps, and the risk of misinterpretation. It also outlines different strategies that can be used to address these issues, such as adaptation, borrowing, and explanatory translation. By analyzing examples from Uzbek literary texts, this research highlights the importance of understanding both source and target cultures to preserve the original message and artistic value.
