MODERN DIALECTS OF THE ARABIC LANGUAGE AND THEIR INFLUENCE ON LITERARY ARABIC
Abstract
The Arabic language, as the primary language of the Islamic world, boasts a rich historical and linguistic heritage. Its development has been marked by two main forms: Literary Arabic (al-Arabiyya al-Fus’ha) and local dialects (al-Amiyya), which have coexisted and complemented each other in unique ways. Today, the influence of local dialects on Literary Arabic has become a significant topic of study in the fields of linguistics and cultural studies. This article examines modern Arabic dialects and their linguistic, stylistic, and cultural impact on Literary Arabic.
