This article explores the educational opportunities of using short, authentic, and semi-authentic reading texts to promote lexical resources and speaking development. Referring to the principles of CLT (Communicative Language Teaching) and the latest research, it offers strategies for integrating combined reading and speaking activities in the classroom. Moreover, it highlights the practical advantages for students within the Uzbek school context.
