- Abstract
-
The study of human abilities in psychology remains underdeveloped due to its historically “closed” nature. Abilities are psychological characteristics shaped through activity, influenced by innate aptitudes. Key approaches include psychophysiological foundations, emphasizing general abilities and cerebral hemisphere dominance, and the operational-functional approach, highlighting the integration of functional and operational components. Intellectual attributes such as creativity, learnability, cognitive style, and execution style reflect individual differences. Understanding these abilities is crucial for supporting gifted children and adapting educational strategies to enhance cognitive and creative potential.
