Abstract

The integration of technology into language learning has revolutionized the way individuals acquire new languages, offering innovative tools and resources that cater to diverse learning styles. This article examines the multifaceted role of technology in language education, focusing on online platforms, artificial intelligence (AI), gamification, mobile applications, virtual and augmented reality (VR/AR), and social media. It also addresses the benefits of these digital tools, such as increased accessibility, personalization, and engagement, while acknowledging the challenges they present, including digital literacy barriers and reduced human interaction. The findings suggest that a balanced approach—combining technology with traditional teaching methods—can optimize learning outcomes. By leveraging the strengths of both digital and conventional approaches, educators can create a dynamic and inclusive learning environment that fosters linguistic competence and cultural understanding.
