J. R. R. TOLKIEN AND ENGLISH MODERNISM IN MODERN LITERATURE.

The work of J. R. R. Tolkien, one of the most influential writers of the twentieth century, is a unique combination of fantasy elements and deep philosophical reflections, which makes it an important object of study in the context of English modernism. This paper examines key aspects of John Tolkien's work, his influence on modern literature, and his relationship to the modernist trends that emerged in the early twentieth century. Modernism, as a literary phenomenon, is characterized by a departure from traditional forms and the search for new expressive means, which can also be observed in Tolkien's works.The article analyzes the main themes, stylistic techniques and philosophical ideas that link Tolkien with modernist authors such as James Joyce and Virginia Woolf.
