Abstract

Language teachers have likely understood that recognizing their students' strengths and weaknesses early in a foreign language course could significantly enhance their ability to customize instruction to meet individual needs. This awareness could also aid in planning activities suitable for the overall skill level of the class. However, while this idea is straightforward to discuss, it can be much more challenging to put into practice.
