Abstract

This thesis investigates the increasing trend of cesarean sections (C-sections) performed on maternal request, analyzing the associated benefits and risks for both mothers and infants. It begins by providing an overview of C-sections as a common childbirth method, highlighting the rise in elective procedures and the ongoing debate surrounding them. The thesis systematically explores the advantages of C-sections on demand for mothers, including convenience, reduced labor pain, and avoidance of potential emergency situations. Conversely, it addresses the significant drawbacks, such as longer recovery times, surgical complications, and impacts on future pregnancies.
