Abstract

Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is a significant medical condition that affects pregnant women, posing risks to both maternal and fetal health. Its prevalence is increasing globally, reflecting rising obesity rates and changes in lifestyle. GDM is associated with adverse pregnancy outcomes such as preeclampsia, cesarean delivery, and macrosomia, leading to future health complications for both mother and child, including type 2 diabetes and metabolic syndrome.
