Abstract

This article explores profession-oriented approaches to teaching English for technical students in higher education institutions. It emphasizes the importance of aligning English language instruction with students’ future professional needs and technical specializations. The study highlights the integration of technical terminology, real-world communication tasks, and project-based learning as key elements for developing students’ linguistic and professional competence. Furthermore, it discusses the role of English for Specific Purposes (ESP) in preparing engineering and technical students for global collaboration, research, and career advancement. The paper concludes that profession-oriented English teaching fosters not only language proficiency but also critical thinking, problem-solving, and intercultural communication skills essential for 21st-century engineers.
