COMMUNICATIVE APPROACH IN MODERN ENGLISH LANGUAGE TEACHING: THEORICAL AND PRACTICAL FOUNDATIONS

This article investigates the theoretical and practical underpinnings of the communicative approach in contemporary English language instruction. The author emphasizes the significance of the Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) method, drawing on the concepts of academicians such as Hymes, Canale & Swain, and Krashen. A variety of methodological strategies that improve learners' communication abilities, including task-based learning, group work, and role-playing, are examined. The article also addresses the opportunities and challenges associated with the integration of CLT into the educational system of Uzbekistan.
