Uilyam Shekspir – ingliz adabiyotining buyuk namoyandasi bo'lib, uning adabiyotga qo'shgan hissasi jahon adabiyoti uchun beqiyosdir. Shekspirning asarlari nafaqat o'z zamonasi uchun, balki hozirgi kunda ham o'qilib, tahlil qilinib kelinmoqda. Mazkur maqolada Shekspirning adabiyotga qo'shgan ulkan hissasi, uning asarlarining janr jihatidan xilma-xilligi va yozuvchi sifatidagi mohiyati keltirilgan. Shuningdek, uning asarlarida keltirilgan insoniy masalalar va ijtimoiy-siyosiy mavzularning zamonaviy ahamiyati va o'rni tahlil qilinadi. Maqolada Shekspirning dramaturgiya va poeziya sohalarida amalga oshirgan islohotlari, uning jamiyatdagi inson tabiati, muhabbat, davlat, xiyonat kabi mavzularga bo'lgan yondoshuvining o'ziga xosligi yoritiladi.
