This research investigates the difficulties faced by Uzbek speakers when learning English articles, particularly due to the absence of articles in the Uzbek language. The study examines both the grammatical and cognitive factors that hinder learners’ understanding and usage of the definite and indefinite articles. Data were collected through surveys and grammar tests administered to Uzbek learners of English, which revealed common errors such as omission, incorrect usage, and confusion between "a," "an," and "the." The paper offers pedagogical recommendations aimed at overcoming these challenges, such as focused practice and clear explanations of article rules.
