Abstract

This study examines and compares intonation patterns in English and Uzbek sentences, highlighting key differences in their functions and structures. English intonation relies heavily on word stress and pitch variations to convey grammatical and emotional nuances, while Uzbek intonation exhibits a flatter contour with greater emphasis on pragmatic cues and particles. This analysis utilizes a comparative linguistic approach to identify and explain these disparities, aiming to improve cross-cultural communication.
