METHODS OF RECREATING PAREMIOLOGICAL UNITS CONTAINING THE COMPONENT “MOUTH”/“OG‘IZ” IN ENGLISH AND UZBEK IN TRANSLATION

This article examines the methods of translating paremiological units containing the culturally marked component “mouth”/“og‘iz” in English and Uzbek. Drawing on developments in modern translation studies, it emphasizes that translating proverbs and idioms rooted in cultural imagery requires more than literal linguistic equivalence—it demands cultural awareness and contextual understanding. The study identifies three main strategies for recreating such units: finding semantic equivalents, applying descriptive translation, and using cultural adaptation. Comparative analysis reveals both shared and unique aspects of English and Uzbek linguistic worldviews. The findings contribute to bilingual lexicographic development and highlight the importance of cultural literacy in achieving accurate and meaningful translations.
