This article explores the significance of Ubaydullah ibn Mas‘ud Sadrush-Sharia Bukhari’s Mukhtasar al-Wiqaya within the context of Central Asian Hanafi jurisprudence during the late 13th to 14th centuries. Amidst a period of intellectual focus on translating, annotating, and abridging classical Islamic texts, the Mukhtasar al-Wiqaya emerged as a concise yet comprehensive legal manual that addressed worship and socio-legal issues. Its widespread dissemination, pedagogical utility, and stylistic clarity distinguished it among contemporary works. The article examines the work’s historical context, structural features, and enduring impact on Islamic education and legal practice, drawing on its manuscript tradition, regional influence, and integration into Jung collections. The study underscores the work’s role in preserving Hanafi traditions during the Mongol era and its contribution to the intellectual heritage of Mawaraunnahr.
