Deepfake, technology that works based on artificial intelligence, has posed a serious threat to the global political and diplomatic stability. Creating fake speeches and spreading misinformation, deepfakes undermine trust, interfere with elections, and escalate geopolitical tensions. Real-world cases are proving how dangerous they are. This paper outlines the political consequences of deepfakes, their involvement in disinformation, and the details on their detection and regulation.
