Abstract

Modern personal computers (PCs) have evolved significantly since their inception, becoming an integral part of everyday life. They are complex systems that combine hardware and software components to perform a wide range of tasks. The hardware of a modern PC typically includes components such as a central processing unit (CPU), memory (RAM), storage (hard drive or SSD), and various input/output devices. The software, on the other hand, is what makes the hardware usable. It includes the operating system (OS), which controls the hardware and allows other software to run on the PC. Application software, such as word processors, web browsers, and games, provide the functionality that users interact with directly. In recent years, there has been a trend towards more user-friendly interfaces, increased connectivity, and the integration of artificial intelligence in both hardware and software. This has resulted in PCs that are more powerful, versatile, and easier to use than ever before. However, this progress also brings challenges, particularly in terms of security and privacy. As such, ongoing research and development in these areas are crucial to the continued evolution of the modern PC.
