Abstract

The abstract examines the exploiting of fillers and hedges in spoken English. Concentrating on their pragmatics. Fillers and hedges are frequently considered as symbol of doubt or indecisions, but we serve as guiding discussion progress, good signaling, manners, cozy comments.

During analysis of original spoken connection, the research marks of how speakers effectively exploit, these linguistic options to keep connection speech. This study examines why people, utilize fillers and hedges. It can demonstrate the variety works these words do in speech. The study also looks at daily discussions and offers examples. Fillers and hedges utilizing in right way, can make conversation better. Sometimes fillers and hedges may seem like bad habits or doing mistakes, however they can have special meaning or aim to something.

The main idea of this paper is to help English learners know about fillers and hedges. It says these words are not wrong or bad. They have meaning and use. Learning to use them can help people speak English better, like native speakers. This paper is good for students, teachers, and anyone who wants to speak English well.
