Abstract

This article covers culturally specific phrases and words, as well as the translation of national clothing names and even traditional dishes. It explains how words specific to Uzbek culture are translated into English, their peculiarities, and how the meaning of a cultural word is conveyed to the reader when translating from the source language to the target language. At this point, the translator plays a significant role, as the translator serves as a bridge between two different cultures. At the same time, translators need to be informed about which methods, techniques, and strategies to apply. As well as there were mentioned about  comparison between “A Thousand Splendid Suns”story by American famous writer Khaled Hosseini and Uzbek translated version “Ming quyosh shu’lasi” by Rustam Jabborov.
