“THE ROLE OF TOURISM IN UZBEKISTAN'S ECONOMIC GROWTH: ANALYSIS OF CURRENT TRENDS AND PROSPECTS”

Abstract

This paper discusses the achievements in the tourism sector of Uzbekistan in recent years, its growth rates, and the impact of this sector on the country's economy. Specifically, it highlights the significant increase in tourist flows in 2023–2024, with historical and cultural heritage sites becoming major tourist attractions. The introduction of electronic visas, improvements in infrastructure, and the construction of new tourist facilities are pointed out as important factors in the development of tourism. The opening of new directions such as ecological, medical, and agro-tourism, the expansion of tourism across regions, and the impact of seasonal tourist flows are also discussed. Statistical data shows that CIS countries are the primary sources of tourists. The need to improve the tourism brand and marketing strategies is also emphasized.
