Abstract

This article is dedicated to the evolution of Russia-Afghanistan relations from 1992 to the present, analyzing key stages of interaction and future cooperation prospects. It explores changes in Russia's policy toward Afghanistan following the withdrawal of Soviet troops, Moscow's role in Afghan peace efforts, and the impact of the Taliban's return to power in 2021. The article also addresses current challenges in security, economy, and diplomacy. Special attention is given to regional stability, terrorism threats, Russia's cooperation with Central Asian countries, and international organizations. Based on current data and expert opinions, potential future scenarios are also forecasted.
