Abstract

DNA and RNA synthesis in the cell. Protein is the most necessary and important part of human and animal nutrition. If protein is lacking in food, it cannot be replaced by carbohydrates or fats, because protein is made up of amino acids containing a nitrogen atom, and basic fat and carbohydrate molecules do not contain nitrogen.
