Abstract

This article explores strategies for improving pragmatic competence in the teaching process. Pragmatic competence involves the appropriate use of language in different social contexts, including understanding speech acts, politeness strategies, and cultural references. The article discusses methods such as explicit instruction, role-playing, the use of authentic materials, and cross-cultural pragmatic training to enhance students' ability to communicate effectively in real-world settings. Challenges like teacher training and cultural differences are also addressed.
