Sport tomoshabinlar oldida chiqish qilishni taqozo etadi va bu individual hamda jamoa natijalariga ta’sir qilishi mumkin; bundan tashqari, sport ishqibozlariga hayajon bag‘ishlaydi Musobaqa vaqtida tomoshabinlarning mavjudligi, ularning mulohazalari yoki ularning yo‘qligi sport natijasiga ta’sir ko‘rsatishi mumkin. Shuningdek, olomonning hajmi, zichligi va tajovuzkorligi kabi omillar futboldagi “uy ustunligi”ga olib keluvchi muhim omillardir. Tomoshabinlarning sportchi natijasiga ta’siri ko‘plab tadqiqotlarda o‘rganilgan, ammo har bir ish nazariyalarni turlicha talqin qilgani bois natijalar ko‘pincha qarama-qarshi chiqadi.
