This study evaluates the effectiveness of one-stage surgical interventions in treating tympanosclerosis in pediatric patients, a condition frequently associated with chronic otitis media leading to significant hearing impairment. The research involved 80 children diagnosed with tympanosclerosis, with surgical outcomes compared between one-stage (Group 1) and two-stage procedures (Group 2). The results demonstrated superior morphofunctional outcomes in the one-stage intervention group, with satisfactory results observed in 72% of cases. Audiometric analysis revealed significant postoperative improvements in air conduction thresholds and speech hearing indices (SHI) in the one-stage group compared to the two-stage group. The findings highlight the advantages of one-stage tympanoplasty and ossiculoplasty, including effective prevention of ossicular fixation, enhanced ossicular mobility, and better long-term auditory outcomes. These results support the adoption of one-stage surgical methods as a promising approach for auditory rehabilitation and the prevention of severe complications in pediatric tympanosclerosis.
