Cervical cancer remains a significant health burden among women in rural populations, where early detection and access to treatment are severely limited by various barriers. These include inadequate healthcare infrastructure, limited access to trained professionals, long travel distances to medical facilities, poor health literacy, cultural stigmas, gender inequality, and financial hardship. As a result, women in rural areas are more likely to be diagnosed at advanced stages and experience higher mortality rates. This paper explores the multifaceted challenges impeding timely diagnosis and effective treatment of cervical cancer in rural settings, and outlines strategic recommendations to improve screening uptake, healthcare accessibility, and community awareness. Addressing these barriers is essential to reducing preventable deaths and ensuring equitable health outcomes across geographic and socioeconomic divides.
