Abstract

This article analyzes the causes and socio-economic consequences of informal employment in the labor market, as well as the state programs being implemented in the Republic of Uzbekistan to reduce it. Informal employment leads to problems such as violations of labor rights, lack of social protection, and reduction of the tax base. The article highlights state-supported initiatives aimed at promoting employment, including “Youth Notebook”, “Women’s Notebook”, and “Every Family is an Entrepreneur”. It also proposes prospective strategic approaches to formalizing the labor market and ensuring its sustainable development.
