Technology has significantly transformed language in the digital age, reshaping how individuals express themselves, communicate, and learn. This article explores both the benefits and drawbacks of technology’s impact on language, with a focus on digital communication, education, and social interactions. While technology has enhanced language accessibility, connected people across cultures, and introduced new terminology, it has also contributed to the decline of formal writing skills and face-to-face communication. Social media and texting have normalized informal and sometimes inaccurate language use, while the rise of AI-generated content raises ethical concerns regarding originality and academic integrity. Additionally, AI-powered tutoring services and online courses—both free and paid—have revolutionized language learning, making it more interactive and accessible. However, excessive reliance on digital tools may weaken critical language skills and hinder deep thinking. This article underscores the importance of maintaining a balanced approach to technology, ensuring that linguistic precision, originality, and effective communication are preserved in the modern world.
