Abstract

Throughout this article, we will navigate through the theoretical perspectives that underpin our understanding of language acquisition, from behaviorist theories emphasizing environmental stimuli to nativist theories highlighting innate linguistic capacities. We will explore the typical stages of language development in children, from the cooing and babbling of infancy to the emergence of complex syntactic structures in early childhood. Moreover, we will examine the myriad factors that influence children's language acquisition, including environmental factors such as parental input and socioeconomic status, as well as individual differences such as bilingualism and cultural background. We will also address common challenges and disorders that may impede language development, offering insights into early identification and intervention strategies. As we embark on this exploration of children's language acquisition, we recognize the profound implications of our findings for educators, parents, policymakers, and healthcare professionals. By fostering a deeper understanding of how children learn language and the factors that shape their linguistic development, we can create more supportive environments that nurture the linguistic abilities of every child.
