STUDY OF COMPOSITION AND PROPERTIES OF PRINTING INK
Keywords:
ink from alternative raw materials, IR spectroscopic analysis, SEM images of cross sections, EDS analysis, mapping of ink elements.Abstract
The article studies the composition and properties of metallized printing ink, where cherry tree resin in a mixture of linseed and soybean oils is used as a binding component. Microcalcite and aluminum powder are used to improve the color, and a siccative (alkyd varnish) is added for quick drying. The study of the chemical composition of the paint from alternative raw materials using the IR Fourier spectroscopy method confirmed the identity of the composition to the industrial paint taken for comparison. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopic (EDS) analysis were used to study the distribution of elements in the metallized printing ink on the paper surface. The distribution of elements and the depth of paint absorption into the paper structure were quantitatively assessed by the paint-paper interface using SEM images of cross sections obtained on a JSMIT-200 scanning electron microscope.
