LEXICO-SEMANTIC ANALYSIS OF KEY RELIGION-RELATED WORDS AND PHRASES

This article presents a lexico-semantic analysis of key religion-related words and phrases in modern English discourse. The research focuses on identifying semantic fields, contextual meanings, connotative shifts, and cross-cultural implications of frequently used religious terms. Using a comparative corpus-based approach, the study explores how such lexicon is represented in religious texts, media, and everyday communication. Special attention is given to polysemy, metaphorical usage, and semantic changes driven by socio-political and cultural factors. The analysis reveals that certain religious terms acquire broader or secularized meanings in modern usage, which may affect intercultural communication and interpretation. The study concludes with recommendations for improving religious literacy and accurate translation strategies.
