Abstract

This article examines the role of international cooperation in the democratic development of the Republic of Tajikistan after gaining state independence. It analyzes how international political organizations - such as the United Nations (UN), the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), the European Union (EU), the World Bank, and others - have supported the country’s constitutional reforms and institution-building processes. The study highlights the contribution of these organizations to strengthening the rule of law, ensuring human rights and freedoms, promoting political pluralism, and fostering civil society development. Special attention is given to the mechanisms of financial and expert assistance, monitoring of reform implementation, and the dissemination of international democratic standards in Tajikistan. The article concludes that sustainable democratic development in Tajikistan largely depends on continued international cooperation and integration of global democratic practices into national governance.
