This thesis explores the influence of multilingualism on foreign language learning, focusing on cognitive, linguistic, and educational aspects. While monolingual learners depend on a single linguistic background, multilingual individuals benefit from cross-linguistic transfer, enhanced cognitive flexibility, and metalinguistic awareness. This study examines how multilingual learners develop foreign language proficiency, considering factors such as language interference, learning strategies, and the role of prior linguistic knowledge. The findings contribute to a deeper understanding of how multilingualism can facilitate or challenge the acquisition of a new language, offering implications for language education and pedagogy.
