Abstract

The article examines the variety of subjects covered by aphorisms, the time period in which they first originated, how historical events are appeared, and the structural and semantic characteristics of English aphorisms. Dictionary analysis is the foundation for the study of aphorisms' semantic characteristics. Aphorisms may freely employ common language because they should be comprehensible to all readers. These terms span a variety of spheres of human life thematically.
