THE SEMANTIC EVOLUTION OF MAGIC-RELATED WORDS IN UZBEK AND ENGLISH
Abstract
This thesis explores the historical and linguistic evolution of magic-related terms in Uzbek and English. It examines how words associated with magic, such as “jin,” “shaman,” “witch,” and “sorcery,” have transformed in meaning and usage over time. By analyzing historical texts, folklore, and modern linguistic trends, this study aims to reveal how cultural perceptions of magic have influenced language development. The research will also compare the sociolinguistic factors affecting the survival and adaptation of these terms in both languages.
