Abstract

Learning vocabulary is fundamental part of learning any language, yet many learners find it hard with long-term retention and effectives usage of new vocabulary. Organizing words into semantics can be one promising approach to vocabulary instruction. This article discusses the role of semantic fields in improving vocabulary learning by putting theory into practice. Using ideas from semantic theory, psycholinguistics, and recent research, we explore how organizing words into groups based on their meanings can help learners understand vocabulary better, remember it longer, and use it more effectively in communication. The article explores implications for language learning and teaching, offering insights for educators, learners and curriculum designers.
