LINGUA CULTURAL DIFFERENCES OF THE CONCEPT “TIME” IN UZBEK AND ENGLISH LANGUAGES

This article explores the linguistic and cultural interpretations of the concept of “time” in Uzbek and English, highlighting how cultural perspectives shape language use. It examines the structural and metaphorical expressions of time in both languages, emphasizing how Uzbek tends to reflect a more flexible, event-oriented approach, while English commonly presents time as linear and compartmentalized. Through comparative analysis, the article reveals how these underlying cultural values influence communication, daily routines, and societal expectations in both linguistic communities. The study contributes to cross-cultural understanding and offers insights for translators, language learners, and intercultural communicators.
