Abstract

Listening comprehension is a critical skill in acquiring English as a Foreign Language (EFL). For many learners, understanding spoken English can be particularly challenging due to factors such as speech speed, accents, and limited vocabulary. This article explores effective methods to improve EFL students' listening comprehension skills. It emphasizes the importance of task-based listening activities, authentic materials, and technology integration, which engage students in real-life language use. Additionally, the article highlights the shadowing technique, pre- and post-listening activities, and the role of motivation in developing listening skills. By adopting a learner-centered approach and using varied listening practices, educators can enhance students' listening proficiency and overall language acquisition. The study provides insights into how different strategies, tools, and learner engagement can significantly boost EFL students' ability to comprehend spoken English.
