CREATING PRE-, WHILE, AND POST-READING ACTIVITIES TO ENHANCE READING COMPREHENSION

Abstract

It takes more than just assigning students to read a text to provide effective reading education; it also calls for planned exercises that help students comprehend and interact with the content. The significance of pre-, while, and post-reading activities in improving reading comprehension is examined in this study. While reading activities assist students in actively engaging with the material and tracking their comprehension, post-reading activities promote introspection and a deeper understanding, and pre-reading activities activate prior knowledge and create the stage for interaction. Teachers may create a more engaging, in-depth, and interactive reading experience that improves students' critical thinking abilities and encourages long-term retention by including these activities in their lesson plans. Teachers are given a toolkit to create successful reading sessions, complete with examples and practical solutions for each stage.
