It is well known that English is the most widely studied language in the world today. A significant portion of information and news available on the internet and other resources is presented in English. Naturally, this creates challenges for those who do not understand the language. Moreover, learners of English often face difficulties with grammar, vocabulary, and other aspects of language acquisition, which can lead to frustration and discouragement. However, learning English through movies has proven to be one of the most enjoyable and effective methods.
This article examines how movies offer a rich and immersive environment for language learners. By exposing learners to authentic dialogues, diverse accents, and real-life contexts, movies help improve listening skills, pronunciation, and cultural understanding. Subtitles can serve as a bridge for beginners, while intermediate and advanced learners benefit from observing the natural use of idioms and expressions. Additionally, the emotional engagement and storytelling in movies make the learning process less monotonous and more entertaining.
