Abstract

The article examines in detail the meaning, content and methods of application of the personal (individual) approach in the process of teaching mathematics. The advantages of teaching taking into account the level of knowledge, cognitive abilities, interests and needs of each student are shown. Thanks to the personal approach, motivation of students, independent thinking, and deepening of knowledge are provided. The article analyzes such methodological approaches as differentiated tasks, methods by interests, and methods of personal assessment. The changing role of the teacher in secondary education and the methodological foundations for organizing a personality-oriented lesson are also presented.
